Because we are interested in making sure that your watch functions at its optimal level, we offer these suggestions from our expert personnel:
Suggestions for preserving optimum operation of your watch:
Your watch should always be serviced by an authorized watchmaker, but you should do your part as well by following these maintenance suggestions.
You should not set the time or wind your watch while it is on your wrist. That exerts pressure on the crown and the stem which could cause them to bend, thus creating a space in the packing that allows humidity or dust to enter into the watch’s mechanism.
Suggestion: Remove the watch from your wrist before winding or setting the time.
The watchband should not be worn loosely. When the watchband is loose, the watch can turn on your wrist, increasing the possibility that the face of the watch may receive a hard blow.
Suggestion: Make sure that your watchband is snugly adjusted to your wrist (without being too tight) in order to extend the life of your watch.

Suggestions for preserving optimum operation of your watch:
Even though when you acquire your watch it states that it is sealed (water resistant), this status diminishes with the passage of time.
Suggestion: Take your watch to an Authorized Service Center within 12 to 18 months in order to ensure that it remains hermetically sealed.
Do not leave a worn out battery in your watch because it can produce sulfur which can permanently damage the mechanism.
Suggestion: Change the battery at an Authorized Service Center within 12 to 18 months of acquisition in order to prolong the life of your watch.
Even though your watch’s case is hermetically sealed, the leather or cloth watchbands are not water resistant.
Suggestion: We recommend that leather or cloth watchbands not come in contact with water.
Do not leave your watch exposed directly to the sun because extreme heat can reduce the life of the battery in a quartz watch and can cause both the watchband to fade as well as damage the watch pickings.
Suggestion: Store your watch in a box or jewelry case when not in use.
Watches with mineral crystal or mica characteristics should not be used while playing sports. Although the mica is flexible and the mineral crystal is scratch-resistant, they are not as hard as sapphire crystal and it is possible that they can suffer greater damage.
Suggestion: When you are going to play a sport, use an appropriate watch with a sapphire crystal.

Suggestions for preserving optimum operation of your watch:
If you notice condensation forming on the crystal, do not delay in taking it in to a technician. When condensation appears it means that there is water in the watch that can cause oxidation or rust and destroy the mechanism.
Suggestion: If you see condensation, take your watch immediately to an Authorized Service Center. With a quick response there is the likelihood that the mechanism can be saved.
If you have used your watch for several years without it having received proper maintenance, the mechanism must be oiled. In order to ensure proper functioning of the gears and packing, they should be replaced to protect the mechanism from dust or water.
Suggestion: Mechanical and quartz watches must be serviced every 3 to 5 years in order to extend the life of the watch.
Do not leave the watch’s crown disengaged. If the crown is not closed, water can get into the mechanism and cause oxidation or rusting.
Suggestion: Remember to close the crown before exposing the watch to water
In order to avoid damage to the watch gears, it is important to adjust and verify the position of the hands when setting the date.
Suggestion: Before setting the date on your watch, make certain that the hands are not set between 10 and 3 o’clock.
Even though the manufacturer’s manual may state that the watch remains hermetically sealed at 30 or 50 or more meters of depth, it is recommended that you do not swim with your watch on.
Suggestion: The only watches you can safely use while swimming in a pool or in the ocean are those that have a screw down crown.
